ATHENS, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Greek champions AEK Athens beat Turkey's Galatasaray 3-2 at home on Tuesday in their first friendly game for the new soccer season.
Although the Turkish team scored first in the 23rd minute, AEK soon gained control of the game and managed to equalize in the 35th minute with Marko Livaja.
After the interval, AEK were even better and scored two more goals with Tasos Bakasetas in the 52nd minute and Petros Mantalos in the 57th minute.
Next week the Greek champion will face the winner of the game Rosenborg-Celtic Glasgow for the Champions League qualifiers.
The two teams held a minute's silence at the beginning of the game for the 93 victims of the wildfire in Mati Attica.
